Jaymieson O’Neill is a Haudenosaunee educator, facilitator, and creative practitioner from Six Nations of the Grand River.
As the steward of Bead The Change, Jaymieson creates learning experiences grounded in connection, creation, and strong relational thinking, guided by the teachings of a Good Mind.
Her work brings together years of experience across education, healthcare, and community.
Jaymieson has taught at the postsecondary level through Brock University and Niagara College, and currently supports organization-wide training and education within the Six Nations Department of Well-being. Her work focuses on developing meaningful, accessible learning opportunities that align with professional standards while remaining grounded in community and culture.
Jaymieson holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Applied Health Sciences, and is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts in Ogwehoweh Languages (Cayuga stream). She will begin her PhD at the University of Waterloo in 2026, where her work will continue to centre Indigenous knowledge, community relationships, and education as a space for change.
Through Bead The Change, Jaymieson facilitates workshops, lectures, and training series for educators, organizations, and communities. Her approach moves beyond traditional teaching by integrating beading, storytelling, and reflection as ways of learning, creating space for participants to engage with knowledge in a meaningful and embodied way.
Grounded in the teachings of the Two Row Wampum, her work emphasizes walking alongside one another in respect, building relationships, and taking responsibility for how we learn and move forward together. Jaymieson’s practice aligns with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, supporting individuals and organizations in moving from awareness to action.
At its core, her work is about creating spaces where people can come together, learn in a good way, and carry that learning forward with intention.
